Sound Mind Therapy – Adjunct Services
Donna Warwick is a Certified Teacher of the Transcendental Meditation ® Program and has been teaching the TM ® Technique since 1972.
Like many high school and college students in the late 1960’s, she became interested in social justice and often went to lectures on various causes at Washington University. She knew that she wanted to eliminate human suffering but it seemed to be an overwhelming task. One day, by chance, she heard about a lecture on the Transcendental Meditation technique. Three days later she learned the technique herself and three months later she went to a four-week seminar taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
It then became very clear to Donna that real change happens from within. She herself experienced a wide variety of benefits as a result of the profound rest gained through TM. She felt greater energy and improved ability to focus as well as a huge reduction in anxiety. Best of all, since the technique was so easy and effortless, Donna could imagine that teaching TM would fulfill her goal of helping others help themselves, so she decided to spend her next full year of college studying with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Mallorca, Spain and Fuiggi Fonte, Italy.
Donna received her BA from Webster University in 1973. Donna is also a Certified Elementary Teacher who has developed her own Artsfusion Method of teaching arts integration. She is the artist in residence at University Primary School at the University of Illinois, a teaching artist at the Center for Creative Arts (COCA) in St. Louis and offers her programs at schools in St. Louis and Champaign, Illinois.
Donna’s hobby is writing children’s books and her first picture book, “There’s a Mouse on My Head”, is available at Sound Mind Therapy.
