Sound Mind Therapy – Our Staff
Jim Guller, CEO
Sound Mind Therapy is a perfect fit for Jim because of his passion to champion optimism and to enable others to succeed in life.
As co-founder and CEO of Sound Mind Therapy, Jim began work with Susie Berg in 2012, aiming to launch a wellness counseling business with walk-in availability, opening the first Sound Mind Therapy location in 2013. Sound Mind Therapy is a perfect fit for Jim because of his passion to champion optimism and to enable others to succeed in life. This passion starts with his involvement with his 3 daughters (Melissa, Jodie and Emma) and expands to include his family and friends as well as the clients and employees in his entrepreneurial ventures.
After receiving his Bachelors and MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Jim worked for IBM in New York in finance and in sales as an International Account Manager. Jim returned to St. Louis in 1994 where he served as Director of Marketing and Business Planning for CITATION Computer Systems and VP of Marketing at Express Scripts.
Since 1998, Jim has been President of Cooperative Home Care, a company which helps individuals live independently and to rehabilitate through nursing, therapy, personal care, household assistance, and companionship, which is funded privately, through insurance, and through governmental programs. Additionally, All-Staff Nursing was acquired in 2001. All-Staff Nursing provides permanent placement and temporary placement of nurses and other healthcare professionals to meet the needs of healthcare facilities.
Jim has been honored as the 2011-2012 Entrepreneur of the Year by EO (Entrepreneurs’ Organization) St. Louis, and served on the EO St. Louis Board. He has also mentored and coached other entrepreneurs to accelerate their businesses beyond $1 million in revenue. He has also been a member of the Boards of Trustees for Richie’s Spirit Foundation and Congregation B’nai Amoona, and has served in many capacities, including President, on the Board of Solomon Schechter Day School of St. Louis.
