Sound Mind Therapy – Our Therapists
Susie Berg, M.Ed., LPC, NCC
Susie encourages her clients to create authentic power by becoming aware of their thinking and actions and making choices that align with their well-being.
Susie Berg, M.Ed., LPC, NCC has a love for people. Her gifts of insight, empathy, acceptance, and positivity have been lifelong constants, and led her to become a counselor. Overcoming personal challenges and obstacles have given Susie a deep understanding of how painful events can be a catalyst for transformation, unveiling opportunities that can drive purpose, contentment, and happiness. Susie acknowledges with gratitude every day that she gets to work in the field she loves.
Susie believes all humans have the ability to exercise total control over their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, but finds many feel powerless over their circumstances. She teaches people give their power away by believing they will only be happy “if” or “when” something external happens (if their spouse changes, when they get that new car, if they made more money, etc.). Susie’s philosophy suggests it is essential to understand that thoughts, feelings, behaviors and responses are the only things we have power and control over in any given situation. She enables her clients to create true empowerment by becoming aware of their thinking and actions and making choices that align with their well-being.
Susie Berg is co-founder of Sound Mind Therapy and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She received her M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St Louis and worked at St Anthony’s Hospital (Hyland Behavioral Health) as a clinical inpatient and intensive outpatient therapist. Susie works with individuals dealing with all types of issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, transitions, marriage, anger, fear, etc. She has trained in DBT, CBT, Domestic Violence, Spirituality, Eating Disorders, Bereavement, Women’s Issues, Marriage and Family, Career Counseling and Individual and Group Counseling and is a member of the American Counseling Association and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Evonne Weinhaus, LPC, LCSW
Evonne says power struggles, whether silent or clamoring for attention, can be the impetus for true transformation. Her promise is to help you develop conscious, intimate and committed relationships, be able to move forward, and blaze a new direction with your goals, dreams, and actions flowing together.
Evonne Weinhaus, LPC, LCSW, is passionate about transforming people’s lives. Her gifts of insightful clarity, compassionate truth-telling and inspiring action have touched thousands of lives.
Evonne believes there is a common culprit lurking behind all relationship problems. Do you know what that culprit is? Power struggles! What fuels power struggles? Fear. So often what someone says or does in the name of love is not love. It is fear disguised as love. Evonne sees this play out with parents and their offspring, with couples, and with The Self. She actually believes power struggles are supposed to happen. Evonne says power struggles, whether silent or clamoring for attention, can be the impetus for true transformation. Her promise is to help you develop conscious, intimate and committed relationships, be able to move forward, and blaze a new direction with your goals, dreams, and actions flowing together.

Tim McIntyre, MSW, LCSW
Tim helps people find their "voice" within themselves and their relationships.
Tim McIntyre, MSW, LCSW believes our pain and challenges are often the doorway to the best and most beautiful part of ourselves. One of Tim's core philosophical beliefs is summed up in a quote by Shannon Adler, “Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.” He has become adept at helping people find their "voice" within themselves and their relationships. How? He supports people in finding the courage to look at their lives and discover the source of their self-defeating beliefs. Why? These beliefs have prevented them from being in tune with their intentions, dreams and goals. Results? They empower themselves to grow....which ultimately leads to a greater sense of happiness, satisfaction, and well-being.
