Kind Words

“I found myself in the darkest of places this year when I decided to go to Sound Mind. I will admit that before coming to therapy I always thought that I could manage my own emotions, trauma and anything else along the way; that I was a rock and nothing could crumble me. However, after making a new friend, they suggested that I go to therapy simply because it’s life changing. I had zero goals of coming into therapy and feeling “fixed” or even understanding what was going to happen. I figured I’d sit in a room with someone who would psychoanalyse me and tell me all my problems that I clearly already understood. It wasn’t like that at all. REPEAT, It wasn’t like that AT. ALL. The atmosphere is very calming, zero pressure to communicate if you don’t want to, and very welcoming. I have NEVER gone in and felt unwelcomed, judged or viewed as an issue. I have been going to therapy for about 3 months since I started and I love my therapist Madeline. She’s young, down to earth and as real as they come. She balances nurture and understanding with a sense of reality and living in the present that has helped me understand things about myself that I could never understand on my own. I have felt so empowered and motivated to take control of my life and get out of the endless cycles that I keep finding myself in. I would recommend Sound Mind therapy any day of the week to anybody on the street. The changes it has had on me and my life in just a short matter of time has been exponential and will only help you better yourself moving forward! 10/10! Madeline and Sound Mind Therapy has saved my life and for that I will forever be grateful!” – Zachary B. on Sound Mind Therapy, 1/26/21

“A very kind, compassionate and accepting place. Sometimes it is scary to share thoughts I’ve tucked away and hid deep inside. But I am never judged or criticized for what I feel or say. Kim has an endless supply of valuable and healthy strategies to help people truly find healthier ways of being and thinking. I am learning healthy ways of coping, interacting and thinking. I was initially embarrassed to be in need of help, but I’m so glad I didn’t let that keep me from trying Sound Mind Therapy.” – Stephanie W. on Google, 2020

“There are special people put on this earth to love and help people heal, and Evonne Weinhaus is one of them. My sessions with Evonne have become an anchor for me over the last year, and her guidance has helped me grow in ways unimaginable. I am grateful for Evonne and Sound Mind Therapy because it has provided me so much support in my journey and I can confidentially say I am truly feeling like myself again. For anyone considering therapy, I highly recommend this amazing place!” – Addie O. on Google, 2020

“I have been seeing Susie for 4 years and she is amazing. She is the first person who I’ve seen that really doesn’t judge, that is patient, and truly listens and shares what you feel. Susie has helped me through hard times and given me the encouragement to believe that I could keep going. She taught me ways to see myself and help me grow as a person. I love Susie and she is the best. She will be by your side helping you through whatever you need. All the people at Sound Mind Therapy will. They have your back.” – Nikki W. on Yelp, 5/4/20
